Sexymi Teatox

Tawny Smith April 17, 2017

Just to throw it back a little, part of my 2017 resolutions/goals was to no longer drink coffee or soda. So far, I've done pretty good. I've had maybe one cup of coffee and some sips here and there since the new year and I am a juice fanatic so giving up soda wasn't too hard. But, one drink that I would not be able to give up, would be tea. Which in my mind is fine because it is great for you... except for when I add loads of milk and sugar to it, but whatever.

When I was asked to give this teatox a try, I wanted to do my research first! Sexymi Tea is the healthiest, cleanest and highest quality teatox on the market. Now that says a lot about the company right off the bat. I read on and found that they spent an extensive amount of time and effort trying to find the best possible formula to give their customers the best possible results. The benefits of the 28 Day Teatox includes eliminating toxins, bloat, increases energy levels, improves focus, burns stored fat, and boosts your metabolism to improve your health AND all ingredients are completely natural.

After doing this teatox, I am now able to share my own personal testimony... I started out with the teatox, and was impressed to see that by day 4, I had already lost 2 lbs. AND my skin CLEARED UP so well! Now I'm about to be real honest, I have always had a super slow digestive system but with the "bed time colon" tea, my digestive system became more regular which was awesome as well. Throughout my time doing this teatox, I decided I wanted to just go full out. I did my best to start eating really clean and started working out. After losing a few pounds, my weight ended up maintaing itself for the rest of the teatox because I started to gain muscle from working out. So although I didn't necessarily lose a ton of weight according to the scale, the percentage of body fat went down. My results may be different than others since I don't really have a  whole lot of weight that I should be trying to lose in the first place, but I do want to tone my body and that's why I am okay with the fact that I didn't lose lbs. and lbs. and lbs, instead, the weight just transferred from fat to muscle. I feel that the teatox, eating clean, and working out all played a role in making my results what they are.

For anyone who is struggling to lose that extra little chub that you stored up over the winter, give this a try! I really do recommend it, and if not for the weight loss, do it for the health of your skin and body. That probably was the biggest factor in my experience, I loved that my skin cleared up and my body and tummy felt pretty happy too! If you're a "sceptist" like I am, check out their website here and see for yourself all of the great things this company is all about!

If you want to give it a try, I HAVE A DISCOUNT CODE FOR YOU!!! Yay! When you go to check out, just enter thechic20 to receive 20% off your 28 Day Teatox order (which includes the tea infuser). I hope I get to hear some success stories from you all if you decide to go for it! Best of luck!

Total BS!

Tawny Smith April 6, 2017

Okay so as I am sure you all know, for the past (almost) 2 years, I have been having fun experimenting with my hair. Bleaching it, dying it, cutting it, damaging it, slowly killing it... So when I heard about these hair products, I really wanted to give them a try!

When it comes to what I use in my hair, I try to be particular. I'm already damaging it with all of the dying so I NEED to pay attention to the extra products I use. One of the main things I look out for is sulphate. Products containing sulphate can play a part in taking the color right out of your hair. So when I read about these products and what they were all about, I was 100% down to show some support.

The name of the brand is a bit of an oxymoron. "BS!" is an 8 haircare product line that has removed the paraben, sulphites, EDTA and other harmful additives that many other companies use in their products. So basically, they aren't BSing us like so many other products do with their fluffed and sugar coated labels and descriptions. All BS! products are sulphate free, grain free, and sodium chloride free.

Naturally, my hair has been slightly damaged by all the bleaching, so I have all of these stray fly away hairs that make me look like a crazy lion with a mini mane. This is where the "Double!" came in handy.  It's a two in one product that works as a heat protectant and hair spray. With having short hair now, I straighten it more than I used to when it was longer. I just spray the heat protectant on my hair and then style it! It keeps all of my crazy little fly aways in check and holds them down in place!

When it comes to leaving my hair natural, (wavy/curly), the mousse works great! The thing I love about this mousse is that it doesn't get hard and crunchy once it dries like other mousses do! I used this mousse, and then two days later (lol yes, two whole days later) straightened my hair with no problem! It actually may have straightened better than it usually does!

The shampoo and conditioner smell so natural and fresh. None of that fake stuffy flowery scented stuff, and it leaves my hair feeling soft and moisturized. AND THEN, to top it all off, this little product, called "FLUFF!" adds volume and texture to your hair. Honestly, when I first tried this product, I didn't understand what it was or how to get it out of the little bottle, so when I squeezed it, I totally squeezed it towards my face and it puffed out all over me. So that little puff smoke cloud you see in the 5th picture below, thats what I puffed into my face. just thought I'd share as a warning for anyone else who can't figure it out.

Anyway, I have nothing but praises for these products. Check out their website here, it includes more about their products, testimonials, and beauty education opportunities.

Going Grey

Tawny Smith July 25, 2016

So it has been just over a year since I decided to take the plunge and go bleach blonde. And although I do enjoy getting called Khaleesi, (which due to being called that so much I decided to start watching Game of Thrones; she is a total badass and makes me wish I could be the Mother of Dragons) I wanted to mix things up, yet again. I have been timid to try out the grey for awhile now, but finally just thought to myself, why not? Just do it, and if you don't like it, just re-bleach it!

Well, I am happy to say that I am very pleased with the results! Throughout my time bleaching my hair, and now dying it, people quite often ask me how my hair still looks and feels so healthy even though I am putting terrible chemicals in it.

So today I thought I would share a few of my tips and tricks as well as some very educational information from my hair stylist / colorist on how to keep your hair healthy.

To start with, going grey actually has not and will not damage my hair. What damages my hair is the bleach, and unfortunately, there is no way to go grey without first bleaching it. So since I am pretty much killing my hair, there are a few things I do to try and make sure I don't go bald.

1. I never ever blow dry my hair

2. I very rarely straighten or curl my hair

3. I am generous with the conditioner

4. I use It's a 10 every time I get out of the shower to help detangle and repair dead ends

5. When I do decide to straighten or curl my hair I use a heat protectant

Now, as for some tips that I learned from hair stylist...

Sulfate free shampoos and conditioners are what you want! Sulfate is the chemical that is known to make shampoos "sud" and it actually strips away the color in your hair. Sulfate free shampoos won't sud, and I know for me, in order to feel like i'm really cleaning my hair, I prefer the suds. Products that contain cranberry oil would be the way to go. Cranberry oil will cancel out the sulfate in the shampoo, but will still give you that sudsy feel.

Okay lets break this down to the basics for a second; shampoo opens up the air shafts in your hair and cleans out all the grease and yuck, the conditioner then goes on and closes those air shafts back up to protect your hair. Normal shampoos that contain sulfate strips those air shafts of not only the gunk, but the color too, so by using sulfate free hair products it can help the color in your hair last longer.

Although professional products are always the best choice, some sulfate free, over the counter options would include Mark Anthony and Nexus shampoos and conditioners.

So stock up on those nourishing oils, heat protectants, aloe or naturally based products and start lovin on your hair, the extra effort and money is worth it!

Thank you to my lovely step sister / hair stylist Julia, for the great information and for doing such an awesome job on my hair!
